On our Dutch forum we were guessing about what make of engine it would be, because they're not telling us...
The 2006 rules about Formula 1 engines have been changed from 3 litres V10(2005) to 2.4 litres V8 this season, so the '2.4 V8' spec sounds like a F1 car with a roof... But I think it is a double Hayabusa(the motorbike engine) 1300cc 4 cylinder linked together(thus becoming a V8 2600cc) BUT with a different crankshaft lowering the capacity to 2400cc. Add a supercharger and voila. But that's imho Any other comments on the engine spec/brand are welcome, please.

The 2.4l V8 definitely hints at the current F1 so maybe it's an adaption of a F1 engine with the revs dropped for reliability and a supercharger to get the HP back up. Were you thinking they would use 2 inline Suzuki sport bike engines? Otherwise, it seems like it wouldn't be worth the hassle to turn 2 i4's into 1 v8.
