Halloween Candy.. when is giving too much?

When I was a kid, there was no such thing.. The more candy a person gave me, the better..Tonight I am handing out candy and giving kids as much as my "manly" hands can hold and I get frowns from all the parents. And, a little guy dressed as Batman knocks on the door with a pathetic plastic pumpkin container with only a few bits of of candy, so I filled it up to the brim with full-sized candy bars. The kid starts crying and the parents give me the evil eye.. Is there now an unspoken rule of how much candy someone should give? 1 lame piece of candy per kid? Do kids no longer like having someone give them a shixt load of junk food? Educate me.

Sadly, no.. My imagination is always pretty positive if not narcissistic, i.e. imagination says "My 435i MPPK is just as fast as a M4".. or "The reason why nobody hits on me is because I am so good looking that they just feel intimidated."

Where in Norcal are you at? I just took the boy out in Burlingame and I heard Parents at the houses(nothing less than $3 mil. there) saying only one per kid ok..which I understand because it is like a fuckin entitlement show over there with a zillion people thinking they can have Willy Wonka as a brother...I bet each house spends more than $100 in candy and $500-1000 in decorations...it's no joke. And then we came back home to my pathetic $1 mil house and had a few trickers come by and my boy put five pieces in a bag and they were so happy.

Totally different market. I could buy a palace in many parts of Texas for the price of my house here. $350k buys a large modern place in Texas. Not bragging OR putting Texas down, its just the way it is. I think that jgoens is just saying he lives modestly in comparison to neighbors.

I dunno Austin is becoming quite the expensive place to buy.. Not Seattle or coastal cali expensive, but pretty damn close, sort of.

Friend of mine has a 4800 sq ft ranch on 100 acres that they just built, after they bought the land from their neighbor, Willie Nelson. I know it is not a cheap date down there. She raises prize winning show horses there.

Hell no. You did right filling that thing to the brim. When I was little we didnt have any plastic pumpkins and what not. We had big ass pillow cases and it was a contest who could get the most candy. Then we'd make our parents take us to the "rich people" neighborhood where they gave out full size candy bars haha

God forbid you werent home and had the bowl of candy there open to just grab whatever.

i hate to say this... but due to the media clusterfuck that we've had over the last 10-15 years, the fear mongering, the smears and so forth... have changed this country greatly... to the point, where i dont see a halloween in a few years... sad, very sad

Kid obviously didn't like your choice in candy, and you filled his bucket with your crap, and now he can't get any he likes at the next house.

What kind of monster are you??????

Only kids in our 'hood are across the street and I guess they go elsewhere. We haven't had kids trick-or-treating in our 'hood in several years. Not that I'm complaining.

You were probably his second stop and his parents are probably personal trainers. I would chalk this one up as a win.

I saw my first ever American halloween last year and since my kids had never had candy before the projectile vomiting was awesome! I highly recommend the experience!!

Hey Lups this is what guacamole looks like when none of the avocados are ripe and you just make pico de gallo
