Non-Auto Photoshop Request

I was creating a logo for my business card and was struggling to make it come out okay. I don't know how to remove the white background of the inkblot and psychology symbol pictures and make it just the black images with the wood background. If anyone is willing to help out with a small project, it would help me a lot! I am trying to use the wood background with the inkblot design surrounding the psychology symbol in the middle. I think the inkblot design could be divided down the middle and pushed to the sides a little bit to make more space for the symbol in the very center of the logo. Anyways, I would really appreciate the help if anyone has the time. If my vision isn't clear, let me know and I'll clarify.
