I need someone to explain something about the C63 to me

Why would they flare the front fender out so much further then the rear fender? Isn't that backwards in design. Or at least they should have made the front and rear fenders equal. But from day one, I never liked that about the C63. Looks awkward and silly to me, even as good as this car looks.

I bet the front and rear fender stick out exactly or close to exactly the same, but the whole body tapers out from front to back so even though they're equally wide the front sticks out of the body more.

i believe they got that from the dtm cars that benz race. wide at front. but the c63 is truely a bargain and i would def choose that over m3 sedan, but not over the coupe.

i'm really looking into a used z06 as my next car though

fell in love with it in gt5

+1, but yeah I noticed that from day one and it does annoy me somewhat. The CLK AMG BS has massive rear fender flares though.

I dunno, it just makes it look like it has TONS of over hang in the front. Looks like how a regular 3 series would look if it had the full M3 front end with the wider fenders and all, but a normal 3 series rear.

It just looks odd, like it has too big a head for it's body.

Fender flares in the front to accommodate a wider front track + wider front wheels/tires to help dial out some of the understeer?

The only way for them to have given the rears a more flared look would be to pinch the actualy body panels in and then add some bulbous arches.

they hired 2 different engineers for the front and rear of the car. obviously the rear engineer is a boring man.

The front of the car is really good. Infact I love all of the car just not a fan of the rear. It only looks good up close. Further than 3ft away it just looks sorta Japanese and droopy.

A facelift with the rear lights and the droopy rear bumper sorted out would be amazing!

I have to admit that those twin hood bulges have really, really grown on me. They make the car look really aggressive.

yes the rear engineer is chinese actually that's why it has a small ass vs. the front that was designed by a viking engineer. yah.. it's is very true what i say

I'm not a fan of the fenders at all, AMG trim makes it a little more acceptable, but yeah they are bad!
