Performance meets designer labels. This is what the new SL 63 AMG Edition IWC is all about; the desire to marry hi-performance with plush luxury. As a result of the partnership with Swiss watchmaker IWC, which first bore fruit with the old CLS 55 AMG, SL 63 AMG has gone into hi-designer mode as well. The car is fitted with all sorts of special fittings, most of which serve as beautifying agents, such as the Tobago brown nappa leather upholstery, which makes a unique look to the SL 63 AMG. Carbon matte trim inside is not only eye candy but also geared for performance. AMG badging is apparent everywhere, as expected. Other telltale signs that this is exclusive include the IWC logo at the centre console, black floor mats featuring Tobago Brown leather piping. The SL 63 AMG Edition IWC will be the first vehicle to be offered with the all-new designo magno Kashmir white finish. Steering wheels is not normal either, featuring a flat-bottom design so well loved by sporting automakers nowadays.

The car still sports AMG’s 6.2-litre V8 pushing out its 386kW/ 525 bhp and torque of 630Nm through the new AMG seven-speed MCT transmission, good for 0 – 100km/h in 4.6 seconds, limited to a top whack of 300km/h. Only 200 units will be made and availability is November 2008.

White is def the colour for this car!!! I love white now. It's great on the M3 and is superb on the SL63. I actually just seen the facelift 2 days ago at the Merc dealer, it looks a LOT better in real life.

I remember thinking how stupid it looked in spypics. Now, I see it as the perfect facelift for an already great looking car! The only thing I would change is painting the spoiler. That's it.

I really, really want to see this thing in real life! Damn it looks good.

I love how different my views of this car are now that more and more pics keep being released. The back end looks much better on this LE model. The interior also looks suiting.

Man, if MB continues at this pace my faith might be restored in them.

What performance haha. . . . its an SL63 AMG with brown leather. Never knew that trim could be "geared for performance."

Nothing on you HKS, you were just stating what the press release stated about the car, or copied and pasted it. So its all good.
With all that said and done. . . . I still like this car a lot (as in white, with that interior, and the fact that its an AMG). Otherwise. . . .I've been tired of the SL for a long long time now. Face lifted or not, that design is OLD, and living in NY, LA, OC, or some parts of FL. . . . you'll know what I mean.

This thing is just like the "Nieman Marcus" edition M6's. . . . that, just like this, basically came in a "BMW Individual" color scheme. . . . but this comes in a Mercedes Benz "Designo Edition" scheme (we had a Designo edition S class and ML. . . liked both of their interior a lot). So, minus the IWC badge on the matts and console. . . . you could still buy one in pretty much this same color scheme.

Bottom line, I like it.

Nice Benz, but I'd take a CL63 in White instead. Now that car has some serious attitude & presence. I've always loved the way the V8 AMGs sound, I still miss it

yes, a CL65 AMG would be king in my book. A white CL65 AMG with some nice DPE's or HRE's. . . . . .

The CL with AMG treatment is absolutely beautiful!!! The only thing that let's it down is the rear lights.

The CL has now been tuned with lambo doors. Maybe some of you guys are interested in it, so here's a pic:

You should know better having a benz yourself. . . . . but that closed star is a result of the radar/laser based adaptive cruise control feature. On models with out the star on the grille, and who have adaptive cruise control, you can see a rectangular piece of plastic in the center of the grille, just behind the bars. Been like this for years and years now on MBZ's.

Yes, the tail lights are a let down, and I dont like all the chrome accenting. Lambo doors FTL
But sometimes, the new CL just looks like a big, soggy, whale. . . especially with that big round front end.
