Texan influx
Can anyone explain why Colorado is being overtaken by Texans? Everywhere I look I see Texas license plates. Why not as many new people from other states?
Is it the legal weed? |

lol..this is hilarious. I always here Texans complaining about Californians coming, now the tables are turned but the Texans still find a way to blame Californians. Well done, you earned an internet gold star.

![]() I just got back to the UK yesterday after a 10 day trip to California to stay with friends, and the sole conversation topic among all their friends seemed to be about moving from Cali to Texas.

The beauty of 10.4% state income tax vs 0.0%. I've lived in both, currently live in TX, but considering a move to CO. I'll be sure to leave my plates on as long as possible.

Austin is a hi tech city and so is Denver. So I would imagine just as many Colorado residents are moving to Texas, as Texans moving to Colorado. I’ve lived in both places. And as for as taxes go, I’d rather pay Colorado’s income tax then pay Texas’s property taxes.

Pretty sure he's referencing the CA income tax where the top rate is something like 13%...

I don't see the lure. My dad and very good friend of his made the move to Denver early-middle of the last decade. I go there to visit and can't stand it. They keep trying to get me to move there...not happening. Nothing makes me appreciate my home more than stepping off the plane after the flight home from Denver.

Rent/property prices/cost of living (bay area) was the reason mostly given.

I like the people better, the food better, the taxes better, house prices, employment opportunities ..... Only thing you can say about Cali is the weather, and while I liked the weather there, kinda missed the 4 seasons. Texas has 2, but a little more variety Had relatives that like Cali in the 70s, but now don't cuz of the crowding and prices. |
