Should I replace headlights that aren't burnt out?

so a question,

So I know that headlight bulbs deteriorate over time.
is it worth replacing them if they have not blown after a certain period of time?

Would it make a visible difference.

If so after how many years of use?

Anyone upgraded OEM lights to say LED, xenon, HID's etc etc and found it a worthwhile, cost effective

Is it also more a case of these new fangled plastic lens going through UV light?

MINE are fine at present, but I'm guessing, using lights all the time, you don't really see a difference.

If you have a halogen in reflector set up please don’t put HIDs in.

If you have HIDs / xenons the color eventually shifts towards the blue end of the spectrum and you’ll have diminished output but from what I gather they will last many many years. So if nothing wrong don’t change

If they are HIDs & you've noticed diminished output, change em. They don't last forever.

Halogens don't need to be replaced until they burn out.

A good quality HID bulb (Osram, Phillips, etc) would provide improved light output over an oem hid bulb. Beware of cheap HID bulbs, they will likely provide reduced output. Change them in pairs, esp when using different types of bulbs or the age of the bulbs vary widely.

I have used knockoff HID bulbs & they were fine
