Eh, idk about that one. Maybe the guy is lying about mods, or the track is being generous with the numbers. That mclaren essentially picked up another 40mph from 112mph in 1.5 seconds....

No, the 112 was the 1/8th mile speed which was timed at 6.8 seconds. It then took about 4 seconds to go from 112 to 150. It makes perfect sense the dodge demon did a 1/4 mile in 9.65 seconds at 140mph so the much lighter and more aerodynamic Mclaren could/should definitely trap faster speed. (Demon runs drag radials and a customized drag racing suspension set up so it has a traction advantage that will get it there quicker. Trap speed is a much better indicator of power to weight though.)

I grabbed the Mclaren printout from the video. Only thing is we don’t know the d/a during this run, the track is in Canada so it might have been nice and chilly lol

Trapping at 150 should be in the high 8's or low 9's

Yeah but factory best is 9.98 at 141....

This car is not stock to trap 150, unless you got a bad add tail wind.

That makes more sense. I guess to pick up that kind of speed in 1.5 seconds would’ve probably required nos lol. Still think the car is modded or the equipment was being generous. I don’t think the cold temps would give the 720s that much of a boost, but who knows.

When you run the math at 3000lbs with 150 as a trap speed you get 730hp at the flywheel. The power band on the 720s is interesting.

Every video I've seen of the 720S involves it beating everything but also doing a 10.2 @ 140mph or thereabouts.

It does run away nicely from an 812 Superfast though.

Perhaps the car was running race gas, but I don't doubt that it's stock. Still, don't let the trap fool you...from a roll, a 720S will run away from other cars which trap the same or even a bit faster. My stock 2RS on 100-octane against a 720S on 91 hangs from 60 to about 140, but afterwards the 720 pulls away. I can't think of anything this side of a Chiron or Koenigsegg which is faster beyond 100 MPH.

As immensely capable the GT2 RS is, this 720 is essentially a hypercar with a supercar price tag. Time to trade up perhaps.

seems his launch wasnt bad he was going in the straight line.. a little amount wheel spin here is not bad that much.. i guess the air temperature affected the car's performance here..
