What's in YOUR gym bag

This is a topic that definitely interests me. Now everyone's answers will vary but please share with everyone what you have in your gym bag and why. Here is a video to get this thread started.

Just the basics. Belt for when I squat and deadlift heavy although I don't pull it out until I'm at 3 plates or more, wrist straps for the same reason stated above, and chalk as I don't wear gloves.

Nothing. In 20 years of lifting I never needed a gym bag. I travel light; just my FOB and wraps on days i do deads and shrugs.

Nice, only using it when needed, rather than a crutch. I just started using chalk as well. What a game changer!

Yeah. I have always been a fan of grip work as I do actually have a pair of Fat Gripz that I will use occasionally.

But for something like heavy deadlifts, the chalk let's me hit higher reps to avoid using straps until they are needed.

I was brought up not using anything except for a belt, and we only broke those out once we went to 315lbs or more on certain exercises.

I believe it was very instrumental in building a solid core! It worked so well....I rarely had to train abs to get them to show!

What's a gym bag?

Phone/wallet stay in car. Keys hang on a hook just past the check-in. If I'm doing pull-downs, I put my GriPads in each pocket. That's the only exercise where I just can't hang on long enough to get a good pump.

When the pool is in order, my chamois/googles go in my back pocket.

Always carry a clean spare shirt with me to the gym. After cardio, my shirt is soaked. I also keep a combination lock for the locker in my bag. My wallet and keys stay in the locker while I'm working out. Also, a small hand-towel, bluetooth earbuds, back-up battery charger, life-savers or mentos, and these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) to keep my bag from stinking after putting my sweaty ass t-shirts in the bag post-workout. Once a week, I pull them out and let them "recharge" in the sun.

I also carry a stainless steel water bottle full of whatever I'm drinking at the gym and shaker bottle of either whey protein or some form of post-workout drink. I hide those in the cooler the gym uses to peddle their over-priced drinks so they're nice and cold as soon as I'm finished. This also lets me have my post-workout drink minutes after I'm finished. I've been waiting on management to bitch at me for taking up space in their cooler, as well as not buying their drinks; but after a year, they haven't said a word.

I bring a book bag in with my gym clothes, change out of my work clothes. Just bring a spare shirt so I don't ruin my seats afterwards. Too many people use all the straps and shit that don't even need it, not going to rant but it's definitely a pet peeve of mine. Don't get me wrong some use it properly but I'd go as far to say that 80% of people use that straps, belt, etc. just for the looks

I completely agree. I would say that you only need the knee wraps when your working on your 1-3 rep max. Of course if you can do more when you're there go for it.

The extra shirt is a must.

Are you serious about the gym giving you a hard time when bringing your own supplements??? That's ridiculous.

When I first started going to the gym, I overheard one of the trainers (who is no longer working there) bitching at the people working behind the counter, wanting to know whose shaker bottle was in the cooler. I did ask if it was cool before I left it in there. I also overheard him say, "We sell the drinks in the cooler to make money, not provide a cooler so people can bring their own and not buy ours." The girl he was bitching at did tell him who I was and asked him if he wanted to come tell me himself. He never said a word to me and it hasn't been mentioned since.

By no stretch am I big. I'm currently 146 pounds....but I'm 42, head is shaved, covered in tattoos and told constantly that I'm intimidating. I think I'm a pretty nice guy.
