Average Credit Score need to get an apartment
So I'm hopefully getting an apartment in the next 3-4 weeks. I've never applied for an apartment before. I'm really stressing I wont get approved. What is the average credit score you need for an apartment without a co signer?

Last time I applied for an apartment, my score was low 700's, but thats decent credit and was accepted right away. I would think that high 500's, low 600's should be good most places, but I have absolutely no clue how accurate these numbers are. Any place will take you if you could get a parent or someone else with good credit to cosign with you. Hope this helps

dude, 500-600 is bad credit.
You want to be at least in the 700's Are you financing to buy or just renting? If renting, don't stress it. You should be fine.

Where are you looking to rent? Depending on Location and Landlord. Some landlords will let you get the place regardless of credit score, but if it’s a penthouse on Hollywood and Vine there going to be picky about your credit score.

They will more than likely love to rent a unit. Unless the place has a waiting list. It is more about the person than the score. If your score is low but you present yourself well and explain the situation you will be fine. They may ask for more deposit money. Most multi family organizations are more flexible than people think. Some, on the other hand, are strict and snotty.

I don't know about your market but around here there are many vacant rentals. Landlords are falling over themselves to rent their units.

if you don't have enough credit, have your parents or other party with good credit co-sign for you.

I dont think youre going to have a problem. A weirdo at my job just got an apt on a golf course. For a good price too. His friend that cosigned doesnt even have a job.
