Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat
I am a manual transmission, RWD, hydraulic steering, 2 door, performance driver. In the past, I would be the first to knock minivans. I had the surprising pleasure to drive a few thousand miles in the Pacifica Limited and the Pacifica Limited Hybrid. Both are very stylish, comfortable, feature-rich, practical, and have utility. The Pacifica looks a hell of a lot better than the new 4 series and the proposed split headlight design of the next X7/X8. The Pacifica also offers loads of more space and utility. Would I buy a AWD Pacifica Hellcat over the future BMW SUVs? I just might, especially if BMW continues to put out putrid looking products.

I'm not sure what to think about that. I'll let you know after I'm finished cruising the aisle's at Wal-Mart in my Little Rascal Hellcat Mobility scooter.

agreed on the ridiculous looking front ends on the new Bimmers, no way one of them will ever be in my garage !
would be interesting if that Hellcat Pacifica rendering ever came to see the light of day !

It's wrong on the Durango and it would be extra wrong on the Pacifica. It's hardly passable on the Track Hawk.

That was a pretty sweet "minivan" when it came out. It was really expensive though. $90K to start, which is like $130k now. A hypothetical Pacifica Hellcat would be probably around $70k, or half the price with 50% more horsepower than the AMG R63. That's a pretty compelling offering if you have 3+ kids, need extra hauling space, or just want all the creature comforts that the Pacifica offers that a lot of SUVs don't.

Automobile technology has now advanced to a point where practically any vehicle can now achieve hyper car acceleration.
In decades past, it was only German brands, Italian sports cars, and some US Cobras and Corvettes that could achieve that. We even have batteries on wheels (Tesla) that achieve hyper acceleration. |

Back to the Hellcat Pacifica, what is today's highest horsepower transverse powertrain? Is it the AMG 2.0L four cylinder in the GLA45 and CLA45? In the US market, the AMG 45 models produce less than 400hp, below the claimed 416hp for the highest power variant Mercedes AMG 2.0L engine.
Putting 700hp through a transverse powertrain seems like a stretch. |
