Going to Montreal...Need Help
Hey guys,
A couple of friends and I are headed up to Montreal for Halloween. None of us have ever been there and was just wondering if you guys had any advice on where to go. Looking for a nice club/lounge that is a little older. All of us are 25+. Thanks |

You'll have a blast, I lived there for 4 years. Check out St Laurent, St Catherines, etc. for bars. Lots of loungy places where you can get dinner, and stick around for drinks. I always found Crescent to be more "touristy" but there are some good pubs there.
Gibby's steakhouse in Old Montreal is a great steakhouse, as is Moishe's on St Laurent. Jano was one of my favorite restaurants for a simple meal. It's a Portuguese place on St Laurent. I'd hesitate to recommend specific clubs since I have no idea what's still cool in the "scene" up there. All I know is that you shouldn't worry about your age. At 25 you'll still be on the young side among guys in the bars there. |

Don't forget that Canada is metric. Speed limit of 100 kph is 62 mph.

Montreal is a friggin' dump. Lots of rude, judemental, snobby and even racist people. I've been there once and I will never return to Montreal. I wouldn't recommend people going there.
Oh by the way, be VERY CAREFUL when driving or walking the streets in Montreal. Tons of people run red lights as if it's legal and driving RARELY stop at the stop signs. I almost got hit by two cars in one day as a pedestrian. I consider Montreal as one of North America's worst cities. |

I love Montreal and have been going once a year for the past 2 years. So much fun.
Recommendations: 1. Definitely go to St. Laurent. 2. Go to St. Catherine's 3. On Rue Montegue (I believe) there is really happening club and a very nice resteraunt next door. 4. Casino Montreal!!! 5. Old Montreal - Gibby's is great. 6. Schwartz's Hebrew Deli - www.schwartzsdeli.com. A must!!!! Enjoy!!! Montreal is great and the girls working at the lounges/clubs/resteraunts on St. Laurent are unreal!!! |

x 2 for the Casino.
x 1,000,000 for being a target as a pedestrian.

wow guys thanks for the advice. I will definately keep an eye out for the maniac drivers up there.
You gotta love how almost any topic on this board turns into an argument. Either way, Im sure no matter how snobby or rude the people are...im used to it considering i grew up in new york. Nothing makes me happier than calling out snobby girls so this should be fun |

There should be better settings when making your name that won't allow you to set up a name that is only one letter off from another forum member. Still kinda funny though |
