I'll have to say the waxed jackets from Britain. I don't know if people are familiar with them but they were designed for outdoorsmen and city folks in Britain for over 100 years and people are still wear these silly, smelly and high maintenance jackets. They leave a nasty residue on seats, smell nasty as heck because of the wax coating which makes a waterproof, and you have to use a damp sponge to clean it - no washing in the washing machine and they're not dry cleanable.

Yep, they still sell 'em and people still buy 'em. Not cheap too.
