Ford Maverick lack safety features ?
I was just noticing the upcoming Ford maverick pickup does not have a backup camera and parking sensors are an option on the top trim version.
Wondering if due to pickup federal regulations the Maverick lacks the roll over protection of say a Bronco Sport ? Do pickups now have to meet federal roll over protection like a new car does ? [(edit) I just read all vehicles under 6000 pound need to be able to support 3X their weight on he sides of the roof] Last edited by overcoil; 08-11-2021 at 03:32 PM.. |

How does it not have a backup camera? I thought that was now a mandated feature by the NHTSA?

I was checking all the specs on the Ford web-site no back-up camera mentioned but back-up sensors available on top spec with Luxury Package.
Might be pick-ups (pickup bed) are a classification different from cars and suv's. Maybe since it's mandated it will have a back-up camera, picture above seems to confirm a camera. Yep it does have standard back up camera says Motortrend. |
