Garage wall protection for car doors?
Is anyone using any of the adhesive foam or polycarbonate products to prevent swinging a car door into the garage wall?
Most of the foam ones I've found either have reviews that they are too soft (tear too easily) or are not heat resistant (I live in S Florida), and the plastic / polycarb are too firm (don't provide enough protection). I am thinking some type of silicone padding or high density foam like an anti-fatigue mat or kneeling pad would work best, but seeking your ideas / solutions.. Thanks

Rubber boat dock protectors. I have some approximately 2” wide and 3/4” tall that I’ve had attached to the garage wall for 7 years and they are still soft, pliable and without any tearing.

Yup, I stack-taped them, cheap and effective. Unless one is gonna open the door like a gorilla attempting to make a hole in the wall, I dunno what more protection is necessary.

I am leaning towards using the towel or pool noodle. Thanks for all your suggestions |

I don't park inside but I bought a roll of 1/4" vinyl for sound deadening in my mustang. It's heavy but I bet it would be very durable for this purpose.

I'm really happy with these from Amazon :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Firm so no chance of bottoming out on the drywall or "wearing out" like weather stripping will, and a good squish so it won't scuff paint or stress the door lip. The adhesive is super good, I'm sure it will never come off no matter how hard I try. Comes in a pack of 4, I used 2 per door lined up side by side to make a nice wide target area so I don't have to perfectly park to get alignment. |

This is the direction I'd go. Something like a pool noodle, or folded-up towel would work, but they're wayyy too crude and unattractive of an approach for me.

Towel I wouldn't do cuz it'll get dusty/dirty/nasty. Pool noodle seems good.

The main thing I'm trying to protect the door from isn't the wall board, it's the hose bib the door would otherwise hit.
