Post your Everyday Carry (EDC). What are your essentials?

Curious to know what you guys are carrying on a daily basis

Kimber Micro 9 Raptor with a Sticky Holster.
This pistol just indexes so well in my hand, I really don’t have to aim.
I should say this is my night stand gun, the night sights will lead me from the bathroom back to bed at night.
OP, what is your choice as a carry?

Phone, wallet, and sometimes my coffee mug. If I'm too lazy to make coffee in the morning, I'll just drink freshly brewed coffee at work.

Oh, we're talking about guns I don't carry one of those

I don't carry... never seen the need personally but I do own a Glock 19, 22, a Taurus 40 cal and an AR15... and have a carry permit. If i was to carry it or keep it in the car, it would be the G19 as it's the smallest.

I don't either, and I have a Glock 43 and a Springfield XD 9mm along with the ability to concealed carry. A lot of my friends, especially those in law enforcement, won't leave home without a firearm, even if it is to run to the grocery store or gas station. There's a line between being prepared for anything and being paranoid, and I never want to feel like the only way that I'm safe is if I'm armed at all times. It's a personal preference I guess, but the all-day, everyday carry is just not for me. My decision to carry is situational.

I think it may just be an always "offensive" or attack mentality... i think many of these people don't realize in 99.9% of situations, if there is any attacker or any dangerous situations, it is always best to run as fast as you can and as far away as quickly as possible... don't even fumble with your gun. If someone already has their gun pointed at you, you are out of luck already... so yes there are "theroetical" situations where it would help you to have a gun on you always but again, it's a one off... and this is coming from someone pro gun.

Most people would have no idea how to react if they had a gun pointed at them and most in the heat of a moment can't even shoot straight due to adrenaline... highly trained police included.

Yes, most people that I've talked to that are in the "always carry all the time group" don't even give me the best confidence that they're ready to deal with an intense situation. They're a little too keyed up in their normal state, which makes me think if things actually went down, they'd be overly excited. And then there's the group that I think secretly wants there to be a reason that they can shoot someone... either to be some sort of hero or because of some twisted state of mind... and those people are downright scary.

Again, it's time and place for me. If I'm going to be somewhere that I know poses a particular threat, I'll carry. But my main defense is to always be fully aware of my surroundings and not mindlessly shuffling along or with my nose buried in my phone like the majority of people.

For those who really do know what they are doing with the CC, thank you for carrying that level of responsibility around. The police cannot be everywhere all the time.

I intend to get my CC eventually - it's something some feel called to and are trained for and I get that.

But vbb you're also right.

Why the posts defending your decision not to carry? That is not the intent of this thread.

Some thoughts... Why go to a place where you think you might need a firearm? I try to avoid those places.

The problem is that we never know where evil will appear. Shoppers and malls, movie goers, hospitals,, etc., are all places where evil has taken a firearm.

Carry if you want, don't if you don't want. No need for either camp to disparage the other.

many states are doing away w cc permits... Florida being one of the few left in the South mandating a cc permit... I could see this being turned over soon

Imagine what kind of indoctrinated mouth breather you have to be to be concerned with private gun ownership but not gov.

More power to anyone that chooses to carry. At the end of the day, you're the only one responsible for the life of you and your family.

The people that say "don't go anywhere except for home, grocery store, work and you won't need a gun" probably have 14 vaccine boosters and wear masks while they drive around alone.

It's funny, growing up in NJ the only people that had guns were mobsters or car jackers. Move to Florida and every Mildred, Brad and Harry has one.

I keep saying I should get my CCW and look into a piece but have never run across a need. However, by the time I run into a need and dont have one it will be too late.

What to do, what to do???

It's a big decision that every individual considering it should evaluate themselves before acting on it. A gun in irresponsible hands is as dangerous as a car in irresponsible hands. I know a lot of people who choose not to carry because they have bad temperament.

They're not scary at all, it's just the people who don't want you to have them have turned them into a taboo subject.

Tons of concealed carry in NJ now thanks to SCOTUS.
