Headphones
Been looking for some new earbud headphones to go with my new Ipod. So far I've been looking at the Sony MDR-EX71SL's, the Sannheiser CX300B's, and the Shure E2C's. Kind of a low middle highend thing They're $33, $59, and $100 respectively at Newegg atm. Anyone have any experience with these, or suggest better ones? Kind of as a side note, have you ever seen the Shure E5c's? $500 for earbuds?!?!

I have a pair of ex71, they sound real nice, and at medium volume, you cant hear outside noises. The bass is real nice, and the sound quality is pretty good. Id consider it...

i've used the sony before and for that price, it's worth it. now i have shure e4c and it is great. you can't hear anything outside and no matter how loud you have it on, ppl can't hear yours as long as they're in your ears.

Thanks for the opinions, I had the sony's before too, (lost them) and they did sound good. I guess I'm trying to find out if either of the other brands are worth the extra money. If bose made earbuds I might consider them but I don't need over ear headphones. Already have a set of Sony's studio monitor headphones.

Theres a review on the sannheiser comparing the cx300 to the ex71. From the (hopefully unbiased) article, it seems like a steal:

i like these: http://froogle.google.com/froogle_cl...ring=mrd&hl=en
they are the most comfortabe of them all, and yes i have tried most. the sound is very good for the money but if you do want better sound it will cost a little more. an upgrade to these would be the sure e4c. they have a little more bass. good luck

My friend has the Shure E5c's and I tried them out...they are amazing. The sound is so clear and crisp and the bass is amazing. But 500 bucks for earbuds...damn.

Just as an update. Fedex just delivered my Sennheiser CX300's. My initial impression is the sound quality is very good. A little more neutral than the sony's which had the bass a bit boosted. Compared to the Ipod earphones these are amazing!. Compared to the Sony MDR-ED71's they're slightly better.
