The local configurator was updated this week.
I spot : - The AS and 4WS has disappeared from the iX50 standard equipment, *but* there is no longer a discount for the removal due to it not being available - Comfort Locking/Unlocking seems to have become standard equipment - 22 kWh charging is now standard (1100+ Euro surcharge before IIRC) - An around 2% price hike on top of that. |

Took them this LONG to bring iDrive 8 to the 4 Series lmao, but I bet y’all that it will take them another year or so to bring them into rest of the range, 1 Series to like friggin’ (DEAD) 6 Series GT.

Couple of questions...
1. What's the point of this "mode 3" charger coming with the iX and i7? Is this for an in-home fast charger setup? 2. Since when does the iX get an optional trailer hitch? |

Outside of the USA it’s always been offered as an option from the factory and late December a retrofit kit became available to after-sales too.

One thing I can tell you, is that prices went up again.
The M3 is about 1500 more here And carbon buckets have gone from 4850 to 6350.

It looks like I'll be keeping my M4 a lo-o-o-ong time, sticking with iD7. Well, I had my first BMW, a new 1994 E36 325iS coupe for 11 years until I traded it in for a 2005 E46 330iC coupe.
I have seen several demonstrations of iDrive 8 in this forum and on You Tube. That installation is as ugly as sin. Ford is doing something similar on the 2024 Mustang but at least they have a "analog" display mode that emulates a round speedometer and tachometer. These freestanding curved screens whether from BMW, Ford, or other carmakers, suck. |

Glad my G83 is a 2022…while I know it is the wave of the future this large, curved screen as sole control for the car, so far is not my cup of tea.
Still like to have some buttons and a cockpit that LOOKS like a car’s cockpit & not a spaceship one. I guess we will all get used to that in the not too distant future…🤷🏻‍♂️

Of course NOW they are going to offer no chrome on the back for the M package with the x7. Still don’t understand why that wasn’t originally there, everything else is black except the back and the side steps.
Also, are these lighting features going to be only for new models or will bmw send an update like they did with the tailight upgrade recently? |

I finally saw the iDrive 8 display in person. In the photos it looks like a rushed design decision but seeing it in person really confirms that. Especially sitting in the passenger seat, I couldn’t stop staring at that kickstand thinking what in the world..
I’d like to see early concepts of it because it was probably a pretty sweet design that just got value engineered to death. It’s a great quality display and all but I mean, they couldn’t have integrated those corners better? |
