Wow, that's pretty sleazy of her to do. I definitely agree with the return of his kidney/compensation equal to it. I hope the husband wins.

"As part of the litigation, we are asking for the value of the kidney that he gave his wife,"

Hell no it's worth $1.5million. You can probably get one for about $40k in China's black market.

That's wrong for the wife to do, but he must've been an asshole for her to cheat on him like that. Anyways, it was a gift. You can't ask to be compensated for that, can you?

Howard Stern was talking about this story this morning. Long time friend of the show, Dominic Barbara, is the lawyer representing the husband, and he made some good points for his client. The following, which was taken from www.howardstern.com, is just one point that Dominic made:

Quote:
Howard read a news report about a guy who is divorcing his wife (for having an affair) and suing her for the value of a kidney he gave her while they were married. Dominic Barbara called in (surprise! he's representing the guy) to explain that there was precedent for dividing: "assets established by marital conduct." Ralph called in to say this was the reason people don't like lawyers, which led Dominic to joke that Ralph should shut his bedroom door and play with his action figures.

One comment - If you give a $50K ring to your wife as a gift, is it counted as a piece of the estate to be divided?

This mangina right here is evidence of the decline of men.

Yeah, I'm totalllly sure that this guy must've been an asshole. I mean, sh*t, he only gave her his own kidney to save her life... yup, definitely an asshole trait. You want to know who REALLY was an asshole? The guy she had an affair with was probably an asshole.

This is honestly one of the most disgusting cases of betrayal I've ever read. I seriously hope that this woman is forced to give the kidney back to her husband and dies a long and painful death.

If that $50k ring happens to be an engagement ring then no. It should fully go back to the husband if the marriage is ever ended for whatever reason. An engagement ring is not a gift, it is a sign of love for marriage.

Now if the ring is a bday, xmas, etc. present then the wife can do what she pleases with it.

I think the kidney would fall more in the engagement category. He gave his kidney in love to save his wifes life. Then she slept around. He could have allowed her to die. She owes him money for his sacrifice. Shit what happens in a year if his other kidney begins to fail??? He would have had another healthy kidney but his hoe ex-wife now has it. Retribution should be paid.
