This happened to me last month. In a car park just driving behind someone looking for a space. She stopped, so i stopped then BAM she backed into me. Hopeless.

The 458 though, as a drop top owner... HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT SEE THAT?????

I once watched 2 identical black Mercedes ML350 back into each other in a Starbucks parking lot. It was like slow motion. They were both trying to back straight out of opposing spaces and creeping at like 0.5 mph. I assume one of them thought the other one was going to stop and yield at some point, but they just kept creeping and eventually collided like a kiss. It was pretty hard to understand how it got to that point given the incredibly low speeds and beeping in both cabins.

This was EXACTLY what I was thinking of....how do those ppl do that, it's like they intentionally did it.

I tend to think that some cars are so low that if they are immediately behind you then tend to disappear in your mirrors even if you observed them prior.

There’s close calls like this happening daily when we drop our kid off at school. A big reason we’re the last car out people aren’t paying attention to kids walking through the lot with their parents let alone other cars/mostly big suvs intruding on their very important importance.

A reason I’ll never drive a white car in winter here. Heavy snow days they disappear from everyone’s sight and mind even if they saw it their consciousness blends it with snow and they never do double takes until it’s too late.
