Planned model lineup for G45 X3, including M50 xDrive

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
From Future Models Info Thread:

List of all planned versions of G45. The most notable part is what it doesn't include: there will be no 30x outside North America, or any diesel larger than 20d. BMW will likely push the hybrid as the sweet spot for Europe.

G45 X3
  • In production 08/24-10/33
  • This is the traditional X3 with gas, diesel, and hybrid versions. The full EV role is going to the Neue Klasse.
  • There will still be X3M (G97).
  • Intro models: Worldwide 20d xDrive, 20 xDrive, 30e xDrive, M50 xDrive; US 30 xDrive and M50 xDrive.
  • 03/25: Adding worldwide 20 (no x). This will likely complete the model lineup.
  • No new engines, making a step up in luxury (standard comfort access, optional Iconic Glow exterior like on the next 5 series, fancier interior materials, driver aids matching the current X5 - also means no L3 autonomy, the best audio is still HK, ID8 dash).
  • M50x specifics: standard M Sport suspension (adaptive optional), standard Iconic Glow, 20" wheels, and the usual M interior and exterior parts.
  • Known colors: Dark Graphite, Black Sapphire, Arctic Race Blue, Mineral White, Mineral Red, Skyscraper Gray, Brooklyn Gray.

Well its essentially the same as for the X5 and X7. They made it M50i's now instead of 40i's.

M50 xDrive. Is the plan to have the M50 be a 6-cyl now?

G97 will still have separation from the M50 such as M compound breaks, stiffer suspension, firmer chassis, and unique two tone interior seats. Putting the S58 in the M50 wouldn’t be a surprise.

Just think the M50 nomclature used to be a V8 until 2023.

Garage List
I’m curious to see what engine they will put in the 30e model. Will it be like the 530e? That will be a 6 cil with total system power of 489horse power. Engine: 313hp. Or will they use the setup as in the X1 30e? 4 cil with total system power of 326 hp. But there the engine only has 150hp, which would be too little for the larger X3 IMO. The current X3 30e has the 4 cil 2liter, with a total system power of 292hp, engine does 184pk.
I hope they will go for the 5 series system with the 6cil, but I guess they will choose for the more cost efficient 4 cil. For me that setup would work for day to day, but not for holiday when towing a caravan for a few thousand kilometers trough the alps etc, then I have to for the more expensive and larger X5… Mmm decisions must be made..

Saw a camo tester rolling through Konigstein a couple days ago, should have snapped a picture... appeared to be at least a hybrid as it made zero noise cruising by <40 kph.

Any chance BMW offers the M Sport Differential (torque vectoring differential) on the 30i in North America?

Wishful thinking I suppose lol.

Good to know ADAS will be carried over from the X5 though I'm not really sure what the additional features are, until I look them up one of these days.

The 5 series PHEV you are writing about is the 550e, not the 530e.

I don't think BMW would use a 6-cyl for a 30e, that would go against their current model designations. So the 30e is probably like the current 330e, a 4-cyl B48 with an electric motor.

I just hope it makes it in Canada; it seems like a good seller here.

In production 08/24-10/33. So I'm guessing according to this data, the new G45 X3 will be in production for 9 years. Am I reading this right... ?

It's becoming more likely that the next generation of ICE models will have very long lifetimes, across the board. R&D is going elsewhere.
