Need some help finding the right watch
ok, here is what i am looking for. in the sub $2k range pref sub $1.5k. chronometer watch with either a carbon fiber/checked/patterned face on it, that looks sporty but elegant, here is an idea of a watch for general appearance, but way out of pricelien, this is jsut for the look. if anyone can give me any advice on any watches to help that would be great. http://www.hublot.com/

How about the Bond seamaster
One of my fav watch designs. Sporty yet classy. Chronometer, and water proof to 300m. Also I highly recommand a diver watch since the rotating bezel is very useful in everyday life (timing laundry, parking meters, etc) good luck. -hkj |

I have always liked the look of the Baume & Mercier Capeland S. It is also a chronometer, but the face is black (sorry, no carbon texture).
To those here with much more knowledge of fine watches. Is the Capeland S a good watch?

Sorry I'm late to the party. The Omega and Tag recommendations given here are the one's I would tend to agree with the most. They can be had for under 2k (from authorized dealers that offer healthy discounts of around 30% off the MSRP).

I agree with DaytonaJohn-go with either Tag or Omega-cant go wrong and hold their value pretty good.
Good Luck!
