My Take After Seeing & Driving the 2025 X3 M50 (G45) IRL!
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Biggest surprise to me was the interior. I really thought it was gonna look a lot worse than it was. Definitely would have preferred the G01 interior but it is what it is. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I would get the woven dash over the very cheap looking upholstery panel dash. A win by default I guess. Steering wheel is nice and thick, like an /// M wheel should be. Regarding the way it drives, it doesn’t disappoint. The B58 motor is one of the best around. Less pumped in sound, which is a good thing. Drives good, suspension is good too. Here are some pics I took. More photos from throught the thread:

Thanks for the report! Very intrigued by your opinion on the fabric dash. What was your initial impression of how durable and maintainable it seems?

What a great little refreshing write up. Good to hear someone talk about the way the car actually drives, rather than focusing on door handles.
The fire / vegas red looks great in your photos! Really nice colour! |

Fabric was very sturdy and tight. Should last a long time with no issues.

The colors of this version of the interior make it look a little more expensive... also B58 not S58. To be fair tho, your X4M behind it looks like a sleek beast in comparison.

In the picture, I find the proportions and aggressiveness of the X4M much more pleasing than the M50.

Please excuse the editorial license in reversing the original photo above, but this seemed an interesting comparitive set-up. Purely subjective, but if you didn't know which was new vs. prior, how do preferences run? The G45 flatness of the side and front fascia, reduced wheel well opening detail, the emphasized rear upsweep at the taillamp, and the bulkier front with the clamshell hood catch my eye, but not as preferences. I do like that the new rear door window is one piece without a divider. I'm surprised how much impact the lack of the front fender grille insert has on the overall lack of visual interest on the side. From an ergonomics point of view, the G01 door handles can be grabbed more naturally. N=1 anectotal reaction before even considering the interior.

Looks beautiful. The illuminated front grill adds a surprisingly large amount of character to the look.

Nice! I think all of these new BMWs look better in person. I know everyone hates on the X2 here, but I saw one on display at the BER airport, in red, and I thought it looked pretty good . I'm still not the biggest fan of the huge grille on the current gen M3/M4, but in person, somehow it works.

exactly and then continue that line from the trim to the doors vs having floating “greater and less than” signs on doors that don’t connect to anything and clash with dash design. No style at all! Not everybody wants circus in the cabin.
