Seat question did they fix it in 25?

Thinking about getting the wife an x3, but I sold my 23 m40 because of the terrible seat problem, do we know if they changed them and fixed this known problem ?

That's something you can only find out by yourself.

I have no problems with the seats.

So go and get inside a car at the dealership to find out.

i recently compared the m50i side by side with my m40i. the m50i seats have more side bolstering but as just as thinly padded, hard, and uncomfortable as ever. if you sold the m40 because of the terrible seats, the m50i is just as bad.

It’s hard to say without spending driving time in a properly adjusted seat, plus everyone is different, so you need to check yourself.

We got different seat options here on the G01, which also makes a difference.

if you want plush comfortable seats, you get those in the x5 or x7. x3 is not it.

i think i'm going to go get my x3 seats fixed up at an automotive upholstery shop.

It’s not so simple nor is it something you can tell with a 5 minute test drive. I bought the last one and didn’t notice until my first long drive. Furthermore, this is not specific to me, it’s a known problem that I’ve found many people complained about with the previous gen, just look at the threads about it here. But thank you for the input .

That’s what I was afraid of lol

These look like the m seats, which are fine however I don’t believe those were an option here last gen.

Yes, M Sport was an option on G01 here, but not with Merino leather.

Yup, I might just get her a slightly pre owner 5 instead of a new 3, just for this reason. I have never met a 5 with seats that I didn’t like. So shocking that they won’t upgrade the seats on the x3 after so many complaints and on an otherwise very good overall vehicle. My m40i was really great in almost every category except the one that is a deal killer … no matter how good the car is, if the seats stink it’s a failure lol.

I’m very average size and weight too so it’s nothing specific to me but I’ll tell you what, it was the worst seat/problem I’m ever experienced as my let’s and back immediately hurt after anything longer than a 30 min drive… which is shocking for such an expensive vehicle . I sold that car and bought another charger which even with its rental car interior destroyed the x3 in comfort lol.

Longest trip was a 5 hour drive without problems.

I'm 6'6" with 218lb.

But if you want real comfortable seats I would aim for a X5.

Mom test:
My mom sat in the car and said the seats are hard just like my bothers car (20 X3M comp.)
She's had major back surgery with two rods etc. and prefers the seats in my 21 x5m over my new x3. She likes getting into x3 better over the x5 as she has to climb up into the seat She's like 5'1) if that, maybe under 5 feet now
