2025 X3 M50 (G45) Arctic Race Blue Stealth PPF + Carbon Fiber Parts

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi all,

I finally got my car back from the shop and it’s done. I got full body stealth PPF with ceramic coating on the paint surfaces and gloss PPF on the black gloss surfaces, interior ceramic coating, wheel ceramic coating, 15% tints all around, clear front tint, clear sunroof tint. Some members have asked to show pics once it’s done so here’s it is. I think it came out better than I expected. I also got the carbon fiber mirror caps, carbon fiber antenna, and BMW dash cam. Here’s the car specs:

X3 M50
Artic Race Blue
Black/Atlas Grey M Extended Merino Leather
21" M Jet Black Bicolor 1037M Wheels with Staggered Performance Tires
Fine Brushed Aluminum Interior Trim
Driving Assistance Professional Package
Parking Assistance Package
Premium Package
M Sport Professional Package
F&R Heated Seats
Front Ventilated Seats
Heated Steering Wheel
Rear Climate Control Console
Rear manual side window shades
Woven Textile Dashboard

The paint and treatment look great. Did you get the windshield tinted as well? We've been doing that now with a very light tint value ever since our eye doc told us it helps prevent cataracts.

You put the little M logo on the front quarter panel, right? That’s usually only on Canada vehicles, I think.

Is it safe to say that the owners who invest a lot such as the PPF and ceramic coating are financing their vehicles, rather than leasing? Personally, I’m currently trying to decide between financing and leasing. I always thought a majority of BMW owners lease.

You’re right, I added the M logo on the quarter panel. I believe it was one of the performance parts that came out for the M50 for aesthetics.

I’m financing the car and plan to keep it for a while, that’s the main reason I invested in PPF. I wouldn’t pay for PPF for a leased car.

Small M badges on the fenders are standard in Europe too. As the factory ones are chrome, I'll also swap them for black ones when my M50 arrives.

Love the stealth PPF. Very nice.

Nifty touch with the BMW 50th Anniversary roundel as well!

Looks good! Dig the carbon fiber mirror caps too.

Was originally considering going with Arctic Race Blue but ended up going back to my roots and just getting an all black M50.

This Looks great. How much did all of this cost? I always had a theory. let's say this costs $6k. How much would to be to touch up some rock chips and get the paint corrected? Not $6k. Unless the car is worth north of 6 figures, I just never though it was worth it. My M2 was only 70k. If I am right about the cost, that's like 10% of the value of the car...

I would absolutely love to have that protection (my car is a mess with chips and light scratches), but I haven't been able to justify this, yet. I suppose if you bought the car and intend on keeping it for a long time, it would be worth it. But I lease due to my milage so it makes zero sense for me regardless I guess.

Although photos may not be the best witness, the outcome of PPF looks great. Nice!

What was the final invoice amount? Budget of a small nation?

With stealth PPF, it's about the look too, not just the paint protection. I think there's value in itself to enjoy the matte color you want, regardless of the value of the underlying vehicle. Not everyone may think it's worth it, but I certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone spending $$$ to derive the value they perceive from achieving the matte look.

Let's be honest -- all cosmetic add-ons aren't "worth it" from a strict technical value perspective. But the intangible aesthetic and enjoyment value shouldn't be ignored.

It costs me $7k to do the full body PPF matte, exterior ceramic coating, interior ceramic coating, wheels ceramic coating, and all the windows/front/sunroof tinted.

I appreciate the protection of the PPF since I do a lot of highway driving so all the little rock chips drive me crazy and I plan to keep the car for 7+ years.

Beautiful! Congrats! Looking at a daily and this is at the top of the list.

Is that the BMW DashCam on the rear windshield? Looks like a blackvue

Thank you. It’s my only and daily car. So far so good.

It’s the BMW Dashcam on the front and rear windshield. I like it so far aside from the placement on the front windshield. All the videos are sent to the dashcam app and it has a parking mode so always on.

Just think they could’ve done something to make all that dash space more attractive. I mean, charge for it.

Beautiful car though.

If all that work was”only 7k”, I am truly impressed. Based on what I’ve seen and heard, it should be a lot closer to $20.
Congrats!!!!!
