I got my X3 20 petrol 3 weeks ago. Haven't tried M50, but the acceleration and comfort of the 20 is more than good for my needs. Happy to answer more question if you have any.

According to the manual, you shouldn't drive with more than 150 km/h during the first 1000 km, so I decided to respect this instructions. Tried 150 though and it is very good. The car is very stable on the road, also feels like it has more than enough power to accelerate further. In terms of noice, I am coming from a Kia Sportage, so very quiet inside when driving with 130-140 km/h.

I had the X3 G01 20i for the past 5 years. My wife has got a X3 LCI 20i Mild Hybrid.
We are completely fine with the engine. The new mild Hybrid system will be even better than the G01 LCI and fuel economy is very good in relation to the cars size and weight. Drove mine mainly in the city and got around 9L/100km. My wifes mild hybrid consumes 0,5L less/100km. So I expect the X3 G45 20i figures for fuel consumption are quite accurate. On the highway the car was fine up until 180km/h. Everything above felt a bit strained. It is the perfect engine if you are mainly driving in the city and has enough power to overtake slower cars on the roads outside the city. I sold my car which was flawless for the past five years and got a G45 M50 because I was missing something after formerly owning an Audi RS3 and a BMW M240iX Convertible. That doesn't mean the X3 20 is slow. It's just not as powerfull but still fun to drive.

My wife has this with all the m sport add ons and 21” wheels.
To me it feels more comfortable than my m50 and has more than enough power when needed. It is 255hp which on a normal commute is more than enough and it has a 0-60 time of about 6-7 seconds which is not bad for a non oriented model. Deffo needs the M sport stuff packages in my opinion. |
