driving shoes... worth it?

What's everyone's view on driving shoes (whether it be a nice driving moc, or somthing like the Adidas Monaco or Puma Speedcat)?

I think they would definetely be better in more spirited driving situations... just worried my gf will think I'm crazy if I change me shoes every time I get behind the wheel.

Yes, if you are racing or track driving.

I don't have one, but all race car driver use them...

I like my tennis shoe, it work great for everyday driving.
