Summer trip ideas

Some friends and I are planning a 4 day trip outside the continental US for sometime in June or July. We'll be flying out of Charlotte, NC.

We've considered Hawaii or Japan, but the flights alone would eat up an entire day or more, so we've narrowed it down to the Caribbean, but anywhere with a round-trip flight time of <20hrs or so is fair game. Dirty and sketchy places are out. I thought about Europe, but 4 days isnt nearly enough time.

4-5 people will be going, and we're shooting for something in the $800/person range for flight/hotel/food.

Any ideas?

$800 will be tough. that's summer peak season. push it up to about $1000 and you might be able to do an all inclusive trip to cancun or cabo.

Cabo is a further flight and a tad more family/relaxation area, CANCUN FTMFW!

T&A everywhere. Great clubs, bars, and people. It is also a little more affordable flight and hotel wise.

he can probably push cancun under $1000 if he shoots for a 2 star resort, 3 maybe depending on the flights.

Exactly. I paid $1200 for 7 days with flight, not counting spending money though.

Make sure if you hit up Cancun you go to Dady-O's, CoCo Bongos, Senor Frogs, The City, shoot can't remember the name of the one over the water with the water that comes down for wet t-shirt contests, Bulldogs was ok IMO, and bunch of other great places. I got laid when I went and I didn't even try.

yeah i paid the same for an all inclusive trip last march. 7-8 days i forgot.

yea id prefer europe, but 4 days wont cut it. you can spend 4 days in 1 town in france or italy alone.

ive never been to california. i definitely want to make it there eventually, but the goal of this trip is outside of the continental US, so my friend can finally say that hes been out of the country.

Just a tip, try the Jet Blue airline. You can get tickets for 60 bucks one way.

You could always pick up a Caribbean cruise from Charelston, SC. You can probably get a 5-night cruise for about $500. That includes all of your food, lodging, and there is no airfare. You then have about $300 each to blow on booze and entertainment.

Example: Carnival Cruise

That one is in late May but it didn't sound like your dates were too set in stone.
