simple...the math will always = to multiples of 9 (notice all multi-9 symbols are the same)
comon now.....this is elementary school stuff

The algorithm is missing something. I ran it a few times and got the wrong symbol 3/4 times. Most of these "games" work on one of two principles. Either you do things to your original number that cancels itself out and you end up with the same thing, or you do things to your number which render your original choice insignificant, and so the answer is always the same.
Many of the algorithma use concepts like those in calculus that have to do with limits. Your original choice ends up being insignificant because of the magnitude of other manipulations. Others simply ignore lower order digits. eg. Choose a one digit number, multiply it by 1000, add the age of your cat, now add your age when you could first talk. Now Multiply the whole thing by two. Add the number of gallons of gas currently in your e90's tank. (IMPORTANT--> Round down!) Take the first three digits of your new number, and divide it by 20. OMG you got your original number. |

The whole time I was thinking... "This is stupid, I wonder why it DOESN'T work?"
After the third wrong response, I even tried putting my mouse pointer over the correct number (and symbol) and it still got it wrong!

Aww man I'm stupid, I just re-read the instructions. I was taking the 2 digit number, subtracting the sum of the 2 digits, then subtracting 10 (I was combining the real instructions with the example instructions into one final set of WRONG instructions).
![]() Yeah, the answer will always be a multiple of 9 and each of these will have the same symbol. Each time you do the trick, the symbol for the multiples of 9 will change to make it seem as if some sort of mind reading trick is happening.
