New Mercedes SLS...

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...cleId=142966#2

The first car to be wholly developed by AMG. Looks too much like an SLR for my tastes but the stats are impressive as well as the projected price tag.

Great, they managed to confirm it just as the SLR was on the home stretch and was wrapping up production with that Stirling Moss nutter.

My bet is the current body is just designed to throw people off about the car's true shape. I wonder why they are testing a sports car (at least I think it's supposed to be a sports car) in the snow

All we know at this point is:
All the mechanical details
$250,000 price tag
Long Bonnet
Offroad Capability
Name
Purpose

No point in trying to guess anything else. It is too heavily camouflaged.

250k? Hmmm, Ferrari or Mercedes... they should make it 150k, especially if its just using a fixed up V8 out of the 63's and especially with the current market.

Looks like a Viper. I'd rather have the Black Series SL.

Pretty interesting chassis setup, looks like the first for them to mount the double clutch tranny in the rear with a CRP drive shaft housed inside a torque tube. 563hp of a NA V8 is pretty crazy, but we ll see how much it weigh.

With GullWing doors, you can clearly spot them from the camouflage.

What are you talking about? This thing could be sick. Why don't you hold your opinion till we know a little more than the above (which is little to nothing!)

Because there is only so much you can advance from... 700+hp only has so many limits and there are only so many cosmetics that you can advance from......
