The semester isn't even close to being finished yet. And a lot of this depends on your major. Classes for an Engineering major will be just a tad bit harder than say, Art.

I'm only taking 6 units this semester. One class towards my last fulfillment for my BS in May and the other towards my Masters. High A's in both classes so far.

That's still way in advance, man. You still have finals, and in most classes, those are a big chunk of your final grade. We're out early May as well. My graduation is on May 19th.

Yeah, dude, it happens. Sometimes you just get unlucky with the professor.

I sacrificed pretty much all my weekends for my GPA from freshman-sophomore year (i'm a junior now). I messed up in high school and decided to make up for it in college. I've kind of calmed down now and am trying to do as good with less studying.

Nicely done. When I took my O-chem classes, the fail rate was around 40-50% for the first time students. I didn't think it was as hard as they made it out to be. You just need to study more on a daily basis. I couldn't believe how many seniors were whining to the professor about their grades. Seniors that were on the verge of graduation and stepping into the real world...scary.

Yep...I know plenty of people who took General Chemistry and barely passed, forget about making it to Organic Chemistry. They don't call them weeder courses for nothing - definitely some of the toughest courses you can take at a college level.

What's up with O-chem anyways? I've heard my BME fds moan abt it forever. I a physics major and have only taken 1 chem course at college level, my AP took care of the rest. But I tutor alot of chem major on p-chem. I found it quite easy and the quantum stuff is toned way down. Is o-chem really that bad?

my frosh/soph year was easy...my classes now are decent but some of them are just ridiculous if the teacher/TA is balls. HS was a lot harder than college for me. my gpa pretty much went from a 4.0 to a 3.6..

lol avg for ochem at my school is usually like 50% on the tests but the grading is scaled, but even so its hard. i studied 2 weeks before, memorized all the mechanisms, and understood my notes, only to do poorly on the test just because i didn't know how to apply.

the way the tests are organized has a lot to do with what grades you get too...
