Audi LED
So i have never liked audi s much but i really like the new q5......once tax season is over im going to go look at some.....but has anyone noticed that when they turn on their blinker the led turns off? one was behind me in traffic and it did it twice,.....anyways thought it was a lil odd, im a big fan of the new led daytime lights

that's a bit strong. their technology is rather good. just dont like the whole concept of engines hanging over front axis and all that understeer. but they are very solid cars even though they gotten 'too pretty' for my taste in cars.

Pretty damn ignorant statement from a bimmer owner.
Audi's I had were bullet proof and it's not like bimmers are ANY better in reliability. Well for me, 2 SOLID audi's for 6 years. (A4/TT) 2 BMWs with one dead after 2 months and 1 going strong so far. Please don't be a fan boy. |

I don't like the LED's or the LED retrofit for the angel eyes.

i've first seen it on the S5 when they arrived to the us. it's pure sex to me. especially when i see it in my rearview mirror. they're so unique, distinct and recognizable. i think it's a very adequate answer to bmw's angel eyes.

The turning the LEDs off while blinking appears to be a US thing. You can program the car to turn that off if you have a VCDS (new name for vag-com, or something like that)...

No idea why, maybe because they were too bright and distracted attention away from the turning signal ? Just looks stupid imho The leds are cool and all on the toprange models, but seriously, it's becoming cheap fast... lancia's have them, saabs, vw, porsche ... they have improved however, the straight bars or the ones starting above the lamps and going down look pretty good, but as said above, fairy lights, i wouldn't have anything but my angel eyes ^^ especially since they are white |

That was the first thing I noticed with the new B8 - the LED's. They look good. A little odd that they turn off when signaling - but not a game changer. The above statement about audi engines is a perfect example of how ignorant some people are.

Yeah, the Audis LED turns off to the corresponding blinker
This is so that you can actually see the blinker.

Audi's were sheeeattt before but not anymore.... they are getting their A game on, while BMW is living on past success. BMW is acting so whackkk lately that it wouldnt suprize me if they came out with a v6 for the m3 like some people are saying.

Ok I saw that yesterday and thought I was trippin, so thanks for confirming it guys. I think it looks totally queer to turn off one side when the blinker is on. I honestly thought the guy just had a faulty light, making me think even less about the LEDs than I did before (if that's possible).
I get neurotically embarrased about burned out bulbs though. I'd rather walk to autozone to get a bulb than drive a defunct car. |
