Is there anyone out there that has some sound advice on dealing with your wife’s ex psychotic partner?
He is 6’-3” and maybe 265 lbs. and has made numerous threats, but no action. I think he has become even more aggravated because he knows that he doesn’t intimidate me like he did in the past with my wife. This guy is nuts, he has called me (BTW- I never have given him my number), drives by the house and waves, he has followed us, he has threatened bodily harm to me. We had a six month protective order against him, but the judge has since lifted it. I think the guy is by polar or something. Yesterday I filed, yet another police report, because of his behavior while we dropped off my wife’s 2 ½ year old at the mall for the weekend visit. As soon as I pull up he starts taking pictures of my license plate and being an ass. I’m very protective of my car so of course, and raised my voice “WTF are you doing, dumb ass?” is the first thing out of my mouth. I think not only was he taking pictures he was recording so that he can go say look how I’m treated, I’m the victim here. At least that’s what my wife and I think, because he was grabbing his nuts and saying he was going to kick my ass and making gestures without one sound emitting from his mouth. Then he would talk calmly in-between with a normal tone of voice. (I had to do a little lip reading). I went straight to the police station and filed another report, they suggested that I just go get a protective order. This is silly there has to be something else that can be done.

Sounds like you need to get a lawyer.

If this guy really is psychotic then he should not have custody of the baby. However, if all he has ever done is stalked you to some degree and attempted to intimidate you, then i think you should just deal with it.

Get a gun or a home security system for protection? I would just try to get a restraining order where if he comes near you and won't leave, the police arrest him and he gets jail time, if thats possible. good luck!

We’ve had three, and the judge will not reverse his decision without physical evidence that she is in harms way.

I’m think about that, but how do I prove harassment? Bring a video camera with me everywhere I go? Soon as I break it out he will change his tune.

We were thinking about asking my wife’s mother to start drop off's again, but we really don't want to put her through that stress again because his rudeness has no boundaries. I was thinking about bringing my camera next time and actually take video instead of pictures and hope to catch him in the act or park across the street and film while my wife drops her off.

Maybe hire a hitman or someone else to intimidate him besides you. I have a friend that had an ex's relatives that needed a "talking to" so the "family" rolled up to their house late one night with my friend. My friend knocks on the door and says "please stop threatening me and calling me names, oh and I have some friends that would like a word with you as well".

As the story I'm told goes, my buddy leaves to go home and sleep because its like 3am when this is going down. All he knows is that his "family" had some words with those people and they have not said another word since. hahah

OP, I know your case is different but there have to be channels you can go through to relieve this problem. But like I said, maybe a taste of his own medicine and fight fire with fire. I know it sucks and it may be complicated cause you work for the gubment, but you need to eliminate this threat.
