I admitt, I'm scared while riding a bike:(

Notice: I know there is a all bike picture thread but I just wanted to know if someone else shares my point of view on riding or not.

I have had this bike since January but now I've had enough. I can't get over my fear of being hit by a car or vehicle larger then my bike

.....I just can't.

After driving a car for more then 5 years, I just cant get past my habit of being in a safe environment of a car.
But in a bike, it feels different in a scary way. It feels as though it's all open, there is nothing to protect you and any mistake you make on the road will be your last.

I regret not taking a bike a license when I was younger. Maybe then I would have gone past my fear.

The good point for the bike is that it is super quick(Even a rookie can get it to high 11's or low 12's in the 1/4 mile), looks great, gives you great thrills while cornering it while cornering and I just love the sound from the exhaust note.

Anyway, I just wanted to share some pics of my bike before seling it off.

BTW, it's a 07 Suzuki 750 GSX-R

Maybe, I will continue my riding on a track or something but on a public road....it frightens me

Bikes are pretty cool but I'm always paranoid about crashing. At least in a car you have a much greater chance of surviving. The BMW R3200S is siiiiiccckk!!

Your chances on surviving a accident are high if you wear the proper gear (helmet, leathers, and proper gloves and boots). If you decide to keep your bike you are doing the correct thing by recognizing your fear. Me personally I have been riding (02' GSX-R 750) for 7 years and have not yet lost my fear. You need said fear to stay alert, and always pay attention to the other drivers and you lane position so you are visible (to other drivers) and also able to maneuver out of the way of any obstacle (or driver). Anyway playa happy driving or riding if you keep your bike.

With proper gear your chances of survival are massively higher. Many deaths in motorcycle accidents are actually from shock, due to road rash. If you lose 50% of your skin, along with seperating multiple joints, the shock alone can easily kill you. Your odds of broken bones and seperated joints are also decreased a bit, as are your odds of breaking your back.

In proper gear, if you are knocked off your bike in an impact, you can slide on the road for some distance to lose energy. Generally speaking, as long as you don't hit an object at high speeds, your odds of surviving are better than you'd expect.

I have known quite a few riders who have gone down (one even on the freeway). All of them wore proper gear from head to toe and have been hurt beyond some road rash. All of them also still ride today.

Get a new helmet now. One crash and they're done. Glad you're ok. Helmets saved me twice. Once was very low speed but I fell awkwardly and slammed my head on the bumper of a car. Helmets are good.

my uncle died on a motorcycle before I ever met him.

as such, I elected to stay far away from them.

be safe. much safer than those photos suggest you've been.

don't get rid of it.. riding is a different type of adrenaline which i can't get enough of..(kneedragging, wheelie, 0-100 in matter of seconds..) well thats just me.. but yah gear up and ride safe...

My old old old shoei hehe I got rid of it the next day dont worry. That was back in 05. I kept it as a souvenir

It was an RF900. I was collecting helmets had 3 sharks,2 shoei, 1 HJC

I know a guy who was completely leathered up taking a turn in a canyon where there was loose gravel. Needless to say he fell off the bike at about 70mph and slid a good distance. He walked away sore for a couple days and that was it.

Dude......it was like above 100F(40C) outside. I would have sweated to death or something. Anyway, even though it was hot outside, I still had this urge to take the bike out.

Thanks for the advice man....I really appreciate it.

Anyway, I already do all those things and in addition.....I keep my signal on for a while so that cars in front of me know that I'm on their tail.
And trust me, I'm the safest driver there could be....at least in my group of friends.

I try to avoid leather pants but I gotto wear them now. I'm thinking about buying those mesh( net) type of jackets and pants. But I dunno if I should buy them if I'm not keeping the bike for long....I'm confused.

Trust me dude...I'm really safe.....I dont even weave traffic.... to avoid crashing into drivers or passengers who open doors to throw or spit something

Anyway....I'm thinking about riding only and only in a race track for bikes....I dunno....I dont trust people with cars around me

Have you considered trading in the gsxr 750 for a smaller displacement bike?

The Kawasaki ninja 250r has been the default beginner bike for over a decade.
