Being noticed in hot cars
So the other day a good friend of mine calls me up to go get lunch. He seemed kind of excited for some odd reason. "I'll be there hella quick" Ok.... So as im hangin out by the TV I hear the throaty loud exhaust. I instantly know he didn't bring his truck. The sound of a furious 500hp V10 is what I hear. Which is his perfect sound of his pops M6. So as we drive to Santana Row we literally must of gotten a good 10 waves/thumbs up from cars such as C63, F430, M6, M3 E92, M3 E46, Lifted Diesels from Los Gatos . But, holy crap but, within a 20 minute drive/cruise you get NOTICED. Just wanted to throw out to all you E92, E82, E60 owners, your all damn lucky to have such great cars. I love BMW's.

It's true but it's weird because I drive my 300C around and I usually get looks from guys, some women but when I drive the BMW it's always the women looking no matter the age.

I had a 300C when they were newer back in 2006. Got a ton of looks from women and men alike, but mostly after I switched out the grille. Chicks dug the big car.

m5/m6 are a dime in dozen in glendale....
there is literally 3 m6's and 3 m5's parked in the work parkin structure everyday. Pretty cool cuz they all park next to eachother on the 3rd floor...and the other bmws do too... 3rd floor looks like a used bmw lot. |

Even in NoVa... exotics are RARE ferrairs (550 barchetta, F40, F50, 288GTO...etc), 12 cyl Lambos, Rolls Royces, Bentley Arnages etc.... you get the idea...even Astons are a fairly common site here... a guy in my hood has a DBS. my 335 feels like a bloody corolla here....

In my area you rarely see nicer cars the a 335i. Maybe a 7 series here and there, thats about it. But I don't get a TON of looks. If I had a 1996 V8 Camaro I would get more attention...It's pretty pathetic..

I tend to get plenty of looks in my 335i. And don't fall into the trap that Alabama is like the stereotype and nothing but poor-folk in the boondocks, plenty of very wealthy people around here that can afford much nicer cars than my Bimmer and there are definately some finer cars around here (especially when I lived in Birmingham). However, as a whole I feel like the wealthier guys here generally tend to spend MUCH less of their money on flashy "look at me" cars like in Cali or SoFla, and tend to drive more like Tahoes or other large SUVs (all of the "old money" folks who could care less about being noticed). Therefore, I feel like my car just looks nicer than what you usually see around. Most people who have an ultra-luxurious or exotic car either are genuine car enthusiasts, or "new money" guys that have to show off.
However, what's funny is that I especially tend to be noticed by guys driving cars much more prestigious than mine more than others driving "lesser" cars. In Birmingham, I had an F430, Murcielago, C6 Z06, Porsche 911 Turbo, E60 M5, just to name a few, all wanting to race me the minute they saw me. I even a guy with a brand new Nissan R35 follow me into a parking lot and strike up a conversation about my car. I guess it's mainly the guys who have the exotic cars that know what the 335i is made of.

yeaa I know it sounds like that but its not even hicks!..Just this whole area is "if it isn't a V8 american car its no good" Its A decent sized City (Quad Cities) Most areas are pretty nice. About 1/2 mile from my house there's a row of $500,000 new houses. Even kids that go to school that aren't hicks whatsoever just like mustangs/camaros and anything with a big motor..Very annoying.

If you live in Irvine, Newport Coast, Newport Beach(socal), you'll see 335's at every stoplight, at every other stoplight you'll see 997 turbos, and at every other other stoplight you'll see bentleys, maseratis, etc.. BMWs are so fricken common, owning one around here almost makes you feel like the perfect conformist.

I wish homes in Vancouver were still $500,000 lol. In my area the average price for a average, 12+ year old home is $1.3 million (CDN dollars). Same house 10 years ago would have been around $500,000.
