The RS6 meets that was expected of it and that was to be quicker EVERY WHERE against the M5.
Acceleration - job done Braking - job done Track lap times - job done Emissions - job done Economy - jod done It wouldn't nor couldn't have been anything different than what it is given the competition it had to compete against. Estimates (I know, no factual evidence) say it should be as quick if not quicker on the Nurburgring as the M6 and RS4, two cars which weigh a lot less and have a smaller footprint as well. You may laugh at the thought of an RS6 on the track but I think it's amazing it is capable of doing as well as it does. |

The RS6 is a serious beast, especially with a chip.

The RS6 is a beast with or without a chip. Given it's sheer size and weight to is an incredible piece of engineering.
You can clearly see the link between the guys that designed this and the ones that designed the Veyron, two cars that seem to be able to cover the two roles of luxury and high performance remarkably well. |

Thanks for sharing footie. That RS6 is a monster with or without the mods(chip).
And, kudos to the guy who chipped his RS6. Takes alot of balls and money to run the risk of chipping a TT V10. Gotto admitt, the engine does have alot of potential. I mean alot. 725hp is insane. BTW, BMW has come up with a Force fed engine of their own in the X5/X6 M. So it wont be long before we see that engine in the next M5/M6. That will surely be a monster in stock form. And in modded form(only a chip), it will be a monster of a monster. .....I can't imagine how quick that will be. Anyway, I wish this engine was there in the R8 V10...!

Wow. The 997 S didn't walk, it RAN the F away from that R8. That was absolute ownage...
Are the new DI 911s under-rated? I'd expect it to be door to door...

No one would have expected a stock 997 to be as quick as this one here is against a turbo but you are witnessing that very thing. So for an Audi R8 to get left behind isn't so much of a disgrace as first thought. |

I read one review of multiple launches to 125mph back to 0 with no signs of change.
I don't think the "paddle/buttons" are even needed. It is so in tune with the rest of the car. Some cringe. I smile. Nurburing: A 2009 911S fitted with Porsche's new twin clutch system (PDK: Porsche Doppelkupplung), Porsche Active Stability Management and "sport tires" - scoring a 7:50. The new PDK shifts a whopping 60-percent faster than the old Tiptronic S. 2010 GT3. Porsche's Project Manager for High Performance Cars Andreas Preuninger says the latest 911 GT3 has achieved a time of 7 minutes 40 seconds around the Nurburgring's Nordschleife. 7:40 Porsche test driver Walter Rohrl, who was piloting the car, was apparently slowed down by the presence of other vehicles on the track. Had Rohrl really been going for it "with a knife between his teeth" said Preuninger, his time would have come down by as much as two seconds. Last edited by gonzo; 05-18-2009 at 02:45 PM.. |
