wakeboarders...

in the market for a new or slightly used wake boat that will fit in my small garage...I have narrowed it down to a Malibu VTX or a Tige 20v. Which would you prefer and why?

I just looked at both of them, if they're relatively new and this is the VTX style:

Get the VTX!!

If i were you, I'de get the Malibu just because Malibus are known to be the best wakeboarding boats there are (with the exception of Mastercraft since those are 100K).

They are reliable and not to mention sexy!

I'm gonna disagree with you there. Malibu makes the best wakeboarding boats. Period. However, as for competitive slaloming, I definitely prefer Mastercraft. I ski behind an '09 Mastercraft Prostar 197 Tournament Team. Absolutely gorgeous boat.

like i said, Malibu's are the best wakeboarding boats. I can launch off their wakes like no other. My friend's X30 mastercraft though is superb...absolutely amazing in every aspect. But since He's trying to decide between a Malibu and a Tige, I'm sure he knows both of our answers

thanks for the comments...

no love for Tige's on here?

the only nautique I want wont fit in my garage (Super Air Nautique 210)

I took a new VTX for a test drive today and played with the MLS...SICK! Only problem now is will it fit in my garage with the added length from the power wedge. The dealer is going to get back to me with an EXACT length.

This is going to be my first boat so I am excited like a fat kid in a cake shop right now!

I haven't heard anything for either of the boats you mentioned. Pretty much everyone I know rides behind Mastercrafts. Tige seem to be nice boats though. I have a Prostar 205 which we have had a lot of problems with but apparently Mastercraft has put a lot of work in the past couple years with increasing reliability. Good luck on your search.

WELL....you know the saying...

The best two days of a boat owner is..

the day he buys a boat..

and the day he sells it.

A wise man once told me, 'if it flies, floats, or f*cks, rent it. You'll be way ahead.'

All that aside, I love boats...even though I have not even seen mine this year

I have a tige 24ve. and aside from the storage layout not being exactly optimal, it seems to be quite capable. Granted, I am no expert watersports man, so I cannot comment on wake quality.
