Thats an amazing idea... BUt there would be no need for mechanic schools or even repair-shops anymore if this became available... you'd just do it urself

i dont think it will be somehting you can go and buy, and over at porsche they wont even let you touch a car unless your certified and they also have programs that give you step by step instructions on how to properly take apart a car.

I think it was MIT that demoed technology like that about 10 years ago. They had a bar code scanner on the glasses. You could look at a wall switch or outlet, it would scan the bar code, and then it would show you a wiring diagram related to the switch/outlet.
It is very cool, but it also needs interaction with the diagnostic computer so you can see readings from all of the sensors.

this is pretty overreaching but plausible in maybe 2020.
i don't know if you knew this but "next step" is like top 100 on the billboard charts in munich right now. soon to be followed by "remove fan cowl" all i can say is nobody but the Germans would set the phrases "next step" and "remove fan cowl" to techno beats and almost get away with it... and come on now, we can tell those are blacked out Oakley mp3 glasses. we expect a better mockup in v2.0 guys and a visor with some protective qualities would be very practical actually, just in case the battery should explode suddenly... i found a few tried and true prototypes that may be helpful to the R&D team:
