I saw it too last night here in vegas. I thought it was 6/10 scary. To me the most scary modern movie is still The Grudge when I saw it in the theaters.

The grudge was just a ton of shock value and sound effects. A lot of new horror movies are all about that. Something all of a sudden coming on screen out of nowhere with a loud noise, you jump in your seat, then it's over. Whatever happened to the horror movies that just made you feel uncomfortable the whole time and the real fear doesn't kick in until late that night with the lights out trying to sleep? Like the old zombie fims, doesn't matter how slow they move, they're still gonna get you.

i watched this during the advanced screening. loved it! great great horror movie. most horror movies nowadays are like scream and the grudge as said above, it's all about the shock value. paranormal fucks with your head because you don't see anything, so everything is up to your imagination and anticipation.
had to sleep with all the lights on and tv on that first night, didn't help that it was a midnight showing either and it was already 3am by the time i got back highly recommended

There is only one part that makes me want to see it. The "the footsteps come in but don't go out" That is the mindfuck I look for. Another movie similar to this that nobody knows about is called "the last broadcast" The blair witch project ripped off the last broadcast horribly. It was one of the original fake docudrama/horror films. Also anybody who wants to see a truly disturbing movie watch Cannibal Holocaust. Filmed by italian production company. It was so realistic for the times that the director was brought to court to prove one of the actors was still alive and that it was not in fact a snuff film more or less

i soooooooooo want to watch this as I have yet to be actually scared by a scary movie and I've seen nearly all of them =( the only ones that have scared me were true asian ones back in middle school but none since then. Too bad I live in LA and there's only 1 place that plays this at 1 time a night. Fail. It's always sold out unless you go early like 3 hours early and buy tickets early. freakin release everywhere!
