OK - DISCLAIMER - Please take this all in fun and with a grain of salt.

Don't you feel like "neener" when you pull up next to someone, because your car either has a "higher number" or is a "better" make, or costs "more"?
And I'm not talking when you pull up next to someone with a 1985 Ford Escort, but someone with a "nicer" car.

I'm not a bad person, I'm not pompous (I can come off that way sometimes here, but in reality, I'm a very sweet non-confrontational person) and I never automatically think I'm better than anyone else, but there is this nagging automobile 1 ups-manship lurking deep within me. And of course, in the big picture - I just have a 3 series convertible, I know there are tons of other awesome and "better" cars out there than mine. And when I pull up next to one, I'm like, "damn....he's doing the "neener" about me!"

I've been told many many times by my parents that there will always be someone richer, smarter and more good-looking than you no matter what. And I know that.

I just hate when they pull up next to me in their 911s!

Some might say it's just insecurity, maybe it is. Maybe it's my competitive nature, maybe it's my age, who knows!

Anyone else feel this way? Maybe it's just me enjoying my car to the fullest!

I was behind a 328 black coupe the other day. It was a beautiful car but I did say to myself. My car will smoke your shit.

I was driving next to a Lexus IS350. Hey, it's not a bad lookin car but my shit is better.

I was next to a guy in a 911 Turbo. You will smoke my shit.

I was next to a Maseratti a few days ago. Your shit is sweeter than my shit and you will smoke my shit.

In the end. I still love this car and wouldn't give it up for shit.

i will never do this to another BMW, regardless of how new or old, 135 or Z8.

i dont ever want to come off as the stereotypical BMW owner. butmaybe with other cars i'll do it, depending on what the driver resembles.

Yeah, a lot of it is about the other driver. Like a guy blasting his music in a G35 vs an old lady in a 2001 C class. Just not the same.

I think ALL drivers of "nice" cars feel that way. I'd feel the same way if I drove a Lexus SC 430, or a Mercedes S, not just BMW drivers.

Haha. I find that I do it with fellow 3ers. I'll pull up next to one and it's not an LCI or doesn't have iDrive and it'll put a smile on my face. Don't get me wrong, I'm not like that at all. Guess it's the small reward I get for 56 more payments. Haha

lol, i give a thumbs up, rev the engine, or spin the tires (HAND SIGNAL/GESTURE) when I pull up to someone with a sweet car. I don't care who they are or if they think i'm crazy.

I have people harass me about my other car, lol. "spin the tires, rev the engine, is it fast, thumbs up, what year, whats it got under the hood, want to sell it, love the color..." From soccer moms to professionals. So I like to harass other drivers when I can.

I take a different approach instead of thinking i'm better or they are better...
