I Almost Passed Out Today...
after comming back from my vacation from thailand last summer (friend now lives there) i was at the heaviest ive ever been when i came back at 195lbs.
so i started going to the gym again with animal cuts, optimum 100% whey natural protein (i mix benefiber with this and it blends and tastes really good in milk). i completely cut out any fast food and soda, juices, etc and in about 2 months i am currently at 170lbs. i only ate the protein powder, alot of water and alot of pinapple with home cooked proteins, and 100% no carbs. i had salads, chicken , meat, etc. so once i hit 170lbs and college started getting rough exams, projects, etc i took a month break off the gym. so 1 month later i went back tot he gym today at a good 172lbs as i still retained my same diet during my break. so i was doing my normal workout, going around the machines doing my reps and keep moving with no break in between but 3/4 of the way there all of a sudden i don't feel well. i felt so unwell i went in the bathroom and just sat on the toilet to relax (not taking a shit just sat on top of the seat). i felt like i was literally going to pass out i got a major headache, severe diziness, and i felt i needed to be in a cold place. i could barely move as i was so dizzy, i thought i was about to puke but nothing, my heart was racing, body was so hot, and i seriously thought there was something wrong with me. it was very weird as i felt good doing my workout at first and then all of a sudden i get mad sick. and so after cooling down alittle on top of the toilet seat i packed my stuff and called it a day for today. so what did i learn and what might have caused this? -i woke up at 3pm (sunday) and didn't sleep yet and went to the gym at 6am (which is the normal time i go but i didn't sleep yet). -maybe i pushed myself too hard for the 1st day comming back. -maybe i should have went easy today considering i started a new cycle of nutrex lipo 6 -maybe i overheated too fast? after comming home and taking a 1 hour nap i feel back to normal, so tommorow when i go back to the gym i think im going to take it slow and run through my entire routine slowly. just had to vent, thanks for reading

hypoglycemia maybe? If it happens again, get a quick surge of sugar somehow and see if the sweating stops. The headache (tension type in the back of the neck) will last a lot longer

from what you're describing I would say you had a lactic acid build up that release quickly into your system and messed you up. I've had a similar situation happen to me after taking a break and getting back into it too hard on the first day. A trainer friend of mine told me the same thing.

Be careful with all the crap you're using, especially potent fat burning pills. Not sure why you're taking them if you only way 170lbs.

definitely hypoglycemia. all of the sugar in your blood rushed to the muscles because your body isn't used to working out again. that leaves nothing for your brain, hence the symptoms you described.
make sure you have a nice meal an hour before you work out, and have some gatorade on hand to sip on intermittently.

It sounds like hypoglycemia, those are the classic symptoms, but with all the supplements you are taking, it could also be a side-effect of those. Lactic acidosis is a metabolic acidosis, which are generally much more severe than what you are describing, even life-threatening. An acidosis also doesn't usually just fade on it's own, some intervention is usually required.

Dude that's weird cus my brother just had something similar. He was driving and it happened to him so he called us to pick him up (he pulled over to side). He's been staying up late, waking up early, working and hasn't been eating when he's at work so that might have caused it. The main thing is to keep your body balanced.

No kidding. You need to get yourself off of those stupid dieting pills. None of those things are healthy for you.
I agree with the hypoglycemia though. Happens when you are malnourished and overexert yourself.

and get a copy of Muscle & Fitness magazine. They usually have some good diet plans. Learn how to eat right and healthy. You do realize that supplements are called so for a reason right? They are not called "replacements" ... Your training and diet sounds like some darwin award shit to me. You most probably aren't getting nowhere near the calorie intake you need, if you're living off whey protein and fat burner pills and training hard at the same time. Good luck. |

Yeah, you should probably consult a doctor if it continues. I'm a med student, so I was just giving my insight from what I've learned during med school, but if it continues, it could be a symptom of an underlying condition.
