How To Disable This Function In Windows OS?

i have this problem on windows xp pro. my bro changed a setting and doesn't know how to bring it back and either do i.

when you go on my computer and press a folder it would open up another window for every folder i open instead of the normal where it would just open the folder in same window.

it is really annoying to say the least. anyone know the solution? help much appreciated. thanks.

Click Start
Click Settings
Click Control Panel
Double-click Folder Options
Select General tab
Click radio button in middle grouping

or with the folder open click tools > folder options and then look for the "open in a new window" button.

There are a lot of good settings in there on the view tab. Oh and for good measure you can click "Apply to all folders and subfolders"
