Why is Cabernet Sauvignon so tasty?
Seriously? I drink that sh!t by the bottle. I fill up my big as stein and slosh it down.
Right now I've got a bottle from Cycles Gladiator a 2005 Vintage and it gives me great pleasure in pants. So the point is who likes wine here? Come on BMWs and wine... some one has to. |

I'm a huge Cab fan. My wine rack never seems to fill up because I keep drinking it all. Would by far take a nice Cab over anything else.

cabs, red zins and red blends all the way.
My neighbor owns a wine store. So neighbor+wine store = epic win!

Cabernet is probably the most sought after grape of all varietals. Mostly because it has the best aging characteristics. The best bodeauxs are made of cabernet sauvignon and sometimes blended with cab franc.
California wines are amoung the best, but it would be wise to not "hate the French" as they have some of the most sought after and expensive wines on the planet. Look up Chateau Margaux or Lafite-Rothschild and you'll be clued in quickly. But, if you still hate the french, there's always Brunello di Montalcino and Barolo which are the best of the Italians.

Benziger Cab ftw.
Also, the Ravenswood reds are f***ing tasty for the price. Gotta love a winery who's motto is "No Wimpy Wines"

I like Californian, Australian and Lebanese wine (try to get your hands on a Kefraya Comte de M 2004 or a Chateau Kefraya 1992)
kefraya is a cabernet sauvignon and syrah mix (not a big wine understander, but that is what the PDF says lol)

as for italian, i have a certain weakness for vino nobile di montepulciano. yeah, cali does have some great grapes and we make some terrific new world wine. i especially like red zinfandel. very happy i live close to one of the greatest wine locations in the world, but grapes here don't struggle enough. too easy to get them ripe and high in alcohol(not that that's bad, just a different style). i prefer old world wines as i feel they have more depth; feel kind of like a poser for saying that since i can't identify crap when taste testing. |

If you like them try Hayman and Hill. Good stuff on the cheap as well.
