did she really just set her coffee mug on my bmw
So I had an incident today and wanted to get some opinions on how others may have reacted. I was sitting in my car in the parking garage at work this morning waiting to go in. A lady was walking towards my car carrying a hand bag and a cup of coffee. She then stopped right behing my car and proceeded to put her coffee mug on my drunk lid while she tied her shoe. She obviously did not see me throught my tint. As I watched through my rear view mirror my heart started to race and my blood started pumping hard. I jumped out of the car and when she saw me she had a look of "oh shit" on her face and she then said "hello, how are you?" I replied "good, how are you?" I was so pissed and shocked that she did this that I really did not know how to react (i did not want to be to rude about it). Would anyone else be pissed like I was and do you think this is quite rude. I am not sure if I over reacted because I might be to protective over my bimmer!

Normal reaction from you.
Trust me, the "oh shit" look wasn't because you caught her, it was because she was going to have to tie her shoe more quickly and was going to loose her cup-holder. Another typical selfish American woman. (Before you feminists get on my ass, they come in the male variety too.) I've been in this situation before (needing to put a cup down in a parking garage). It always always goes on the ground, never on someone's car. It never even enters my mind that it is an option to do something like that. Another similar situation is coming out to find someone leaning against your car talking on the phone, etc. (which I have had happen to me). *bleh* |

I would have walked over and picked up her coffee cup, last thing you want is for her to DRAG it off your trunk. Then told her some of us care more about our cars and to try and be more courteous of other peoples stuff

Had it been a paper or styrofoam cup I would have replied just like you did and not really cared.
If it had been glass or something that could do damage, I would respond to her by saying something like, "I'm fine thanks for asking. How's your coffee this morning?" in a joking way of course. Or would have gotten out of the car and jokingly with a smile said: "good thing I was here because the alarm on this thing is so loud." but always with a smile, they will get the hint!

Should have held your horn. I parked in a space without cars next to me today and a driver decides to park within inches from my drivers side door. I'm about 6 inches to the line, but well within my space. So I'm thinking, there are 2 spaces to my right why didn't he just park there. Being young I decide to get in the passenger door and hope into the drivers seat. Then to my left i see the guys girlfriend squeezing her way into the car without hitting my door. I was pissed, but had to laugh a little... No harm done.
