First Day of Work: What to wear?

My first day of work is Monday, and the dress code is jeans - yes you heard me jeans. But I feel like I should wear business casual just to make a good first impression. Any thoughts?

yup. dress at least one level above of what is required. i dont think it will hurt.

Make your hear nicely

Brown color blazer with white or light pink shirts (tie if necessory).

Regular simple jeans with black leather casual shoes. No dress shoes.

If dress code is jeans, then go with jeans.

Why not! When do you have the opportunity to do so otherwise? Jeans are far better than Army uniforms!

I was thinking Khaki colored 3-button blazer, black dress shirt, Sevens in a dark rinse/bootcut and brown loafers.

Or maybe a lighter colored shirt with a standard English collar?

Defn. lighter dress shirts for dark color blazer.

Dark blazer with dark shirt will makes you look dark person.

Its winter so you probly want to go with warm look color shirt.

women loves pink BTW.

+1. If you're looking to move up in companies you should always dress a level or 2 above your position, or as an old boss once told me, "don't dress like who you are, dress like who you want to be."

If it is a small business or there is a reason, safety or otherwise for wearing jeans, then go with the jeans but if it is a company of fair size I would definitely try and distinguish myself a bit by dressing well, everyday. Maybe go with jeans only on Friday.

BTW I decided to go business casual my first day and I figure as I get my certifications, and start making a name for myself I'll change my wardrobe accordingly.
