Just got a antibiotic shot, holy sh1t
felt a sinus infection coming, doctor said my ear drums were bleeding so they gave me a shot....somebody chime in and tell me what shot this doctor office just gave me, ive had them before and they were painless and just made me jittery...but this shot as soon as it went in felt like she stabbed my ass with a giant knife...they made me stay there for 10 minutes to make sure i didnt pass out...and i was in to much pain to remember what the name was, all I remember was she said she mixed with sterile water?? which hurts more??...i have no idea haha

yeah... must have been a big one.
The deltoid can only take like 1.5-2.0cc of injection... Did you see the syringe? When they go for the ass-shots they are usually rocking one with a pistol grip. Your ass will burn for a few days too. Its perfectly normal. |

Also depends on the gauge needle they used and who's doing the shot. I gave my wife shots when she was pregnant with our first son, the needle was like a garden hose because progesterone is thick and oil based, that had to be done daily for 2 months straight, only once did she say I hit a spot that cause her serious pain.

I'm an ER nurse, and by your description I know exactly what you got.
They gave you Rocephin, probably 1 gram, and didn't mix it with Lidocaine like they're supposed to. It can technically be mixed with sterile water, but it'll hurt like a son-a-bitch if lidocaine isn't added. That's what we give the fuckers that come in to the ER, state they're having chest pain, and then when you get them to the back, tell you the real reason they're there is they think they have an STD. That'll piss an ER nurse and doctor off, so don't do it. Which is why they get the Rocephin - with no lidocaine. Oh, some more bad news for you - antibiotics don't work on sinus infections. Several studies have found palcebos have the same rate of cure. Basically what that means is that sinus infections clear on their own. Nasal saline rinses work better and faster.

haha hell no, not even a thought haha
i guess since i went in as soon as i felt it coming(not many signs yet) i just have these often and know when its coming, he just gave me that bc it "cures" most anything...versus a targeted drug
