Extremely proud of this pic.

I saw a similar one online by a professional photographer and I wanted to see if I could match his work. It may look simple but this is an extremely technical photo and requires lots of on camera adjustments and patience for the correct light setting. I waited over 2 hours for this one photo. Let me know what you guys think.

And this is a bonus pic. This guy was really cool and was surfing in very cold water lol.

I can venture to guess what time you took that photo. It looks like dusk, but it's probably taken at night. What time did you take that photo?

Looks great diesel, nice job

What were you trying to duplicate from the original photographer? The light shining off the road? That's probably a small part of it. I like how the water portion of the pic makes the right side seem foggy / slightly hazy, while everything else has a sharper contrast. The sky's lighting is nice as well

Thanks. it’s a very technical photo because if the camera settings are off the photo will not work.

I can't give any professional advice on your picture, but, from a true novice photographer that is one awesome photo!

Hey diesel007, I don't pretend to know much about photography, but my wife is a photographer by trade and she gave that photo a big thumbsup; first thing she said was "he must have waited all day for that". Excellent work, it looks amazing, worthy of framing I think.

So strange. When I saw that picture I swore I had been on that exact bit of road once in my life. But because I have common sense, and knew that there are millions of miles of road all over the world, I didn't mention it.

But my girlfriend is from La Jolla. And I have been on that exact bit of road. We were visiting her parents and I was driving her mom's E-class trying to charge the battery after a jump.

La jolla is beautiful and makes pretty things like that view and my girlfriend.

Wow your wife called it. I waited a long time to get the perfect lighting.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Very nice shot, nice scenery too. I worked with a photographer who shoots city skyline panoramas. He said a few things that stuck with me, one of them was that dusk is always the best time to shoot photos and to shoot all the way through to make sure you catch the perfect level of light.

It was actually pretty cool. He would take one exposure early on, and then another later on when it was darker. The first to make sure anything that wasn't lit was captured well, and the second was to burn in the lights nicely.

The result was the attached...
