Night mare on elm street
Well I have been a long time freddy fan and I was extatic when I heard they were doing a remake. I ended up going to see the midnight release of the film and while the majority of the film was enjoyable there was one thing that pissed me off beyond belief.
Why the hell did they make freddy look like a dwarf with down syndrome it totaly ruined the movie for me. |

^ that's how it is. It's always been that way. There should be a law.
Like when a movie looks rofl hilarious and you get all psyched about it, then spend $10 to find out all the jokes were in the trailer. |

Huge horror fan! NOES is one of my favorite series.
Haven't seen the new one yet, but I did notice on the trailer that Freddy looked weird, or different than usual. Bummer. Plus his voice just doesn't work either. I heard Robert Englund didn't want to play Freddy again because he was too old. Like in Halloween 2 (new one) Michael Myers has really long hair, and you see him without his mask quite a bit. WTF?????????????

So the general consensus is that it sucked horribly? Damn I wanted to see it, but I knew it was going to turn into another "Friday the 13th" remake.

I love when there's parts in the trailer that don't even make the final cut

Haven't seen it, but from the trailer it seems Bay did nothing original except take scenes from the first 3 and put them in his movie.

I'd like to know what Robert Englund thought of this film.
side note- i liked all of the rob zombie remakes and also the hills have eyes. last house on the left wasnt too bad from the original i think Night of the Living Dead was the best horror remake ever. Tony Todd (from Candyman) was great for that role. i just checked robert englund's blog and i found something that said he liked the film his fans didnt Last edited by ililillilillilil; 05-03-2010 at 01:16 PM.. |

The very first Nightmare on Elm St was a good movie; not just a good horror movie, but a good movie overall.
The following movies were good "comedic-horror" movies. I haven't seen this one, but all the reviews make me think I'll just wait for HBO.

Hey for anyone who has seen the New NOES, did the special effects ruin the movie? Is it really easy to tell when someone slips into sleep? I liked that about the original, how you couldn't always tell.
Halloween II was soooooooooo violent, lol, I know it's a horror movie, but at one point, I was like daaaaaaaaamn. I didn't like how he grunted and made noise either. The scary thing about Michael Myers is/was the blank mask, the silence and the music! I think it would have been an awesome movie on it's own. Like with no tie to Halloween. It would have to have the plot reworked as far as Loomis and Lauri go, but could have held its own and created a new franchise. In other news, Mega Piranha is a disaster.

I really liked the preview for HTTM until it got to the whole "it's a chance to get our lives right this time" type bullshit...I thought it would be better if it resulted in an alpine ski race or alien abduction or something...maybe I'll see it anyway

The original movie made me shit my pants as a kid. What parent thought it was ok to let 3rd graders watch that movie was beyond me. All my friends parents were coked out throughout the 80's so I don't think they cared too much what we were doing as long as we left them alone.

Haha, I saw it a few weeks ago on SyFy. I had it in my Netflix too and promptly removed it.
