Der schnellste Feuerwehrwagen...
Forget the 'Ring Taxi... what about the Fire Department!!!
Der schnellste Feuerwehrwagen!!! Its official name is the: Nuerburgring Rapid Response Car. This Nissan GTR was featured on Auto Motor und Sport's Tv show (Motor Vision) this last Sunday. Just got around to posting this. It was a cute little story on how the fire fighters from Adenau man this special fire car! It even carries fifty liters of water to put out small fires! Hence the pumping and hose gear in the trunk! I think I might want to become a volunteer fire fighter for Adenau village!!! Enjoy!!! Last edited by Dackelone; 05-21-2010 at 05:54 AM.. |

Well why not? The car can lap the Ring in under 7:30, I would use it too. Besides, what else would you use? A Porsche? hahaha

Nuerburgring is a strange beast. The Green Hell as Jackie Stewart coin'd it. You have a 22km long track 190-ish turns. There are only two main areas where emergency response cars can enter the track. In Nuerburg(where the ruined castle is, and the village Adenua(half way around the Ring). IF you were to drive a 135i around this track yourself... you would be hard pressed to make it around it in under 12 minutes. Probably it would be more like 15 minutes with traffic and all. I am sure you could rip a fast-er lap.. but what I mean is there is always something slowing you down or surprising you on this track. And the off (Neg)cambers are sooo sick. I think we did a 18 minute lap on our fist visit here many years ago in our slow rental car!! Think about wrecking bad at this track... and it taking that long(several minutes) for help to arrive. Every minute counts. And this track is known for taking lives every year. EVEN car mad "tourists" driving around the Ring. Every year 30 or so people die at the Ring. DoA. But another fifty or so die at the hospital later, and those deaths do not count on the official log. So it IS a deadly track. You MUST respect this track. It is unlike any other on the planet. It is more like a paved roller coaster that cars can drive on. And durring a lap of the famous Ring you might have to deal with slow drivers, fast drivers, tour buses, bikes, quads, and race cars! Talk about a mix of speed. The minute you stop respecting this track... well.. you know. That said... This is my favorite track of all time. Realy a challenge and a milestone. Only the crazy Germans would make this a tourist attraction! I am glad Nissan has made this litlle gen for the local fire dept. |

12 minutes is a good lap around the track in a 135i? Well, I have something to shoot for now, haha.

All being said, I'm happy to see the Nissan prepped and ready should it ever be needed. Will be there again this Sunday with a group of 1's. Come along. |

What time Sunday? I've been to the track a couple times, but never actually on it (my last car wouldn't have survived). |
