I don't know if you guys are as big in the tech community as I am but James Kim from cnet, screen savers and countless other tech news sites/shows, body was found today. He was lost with his family while on vacation and his family survived, but he had been missing since the 25th. His body was just found and it is a big hit to the Tech community. Sad day.
Here is a story if you guys wanted to check it out. http://www.ktvu.com/news/10436601/detail.html Edit: Here is a video of the police statement. http://www.katu.com/index.html |

yea, pretty sad. i was hoping that he'd be found alive, but i also knew from the details that were released that it'd be a pretty slim chance.

Yeah same here, I read earlier they found his pants, I took that to be a pretty bad sign. At least his family survived though, given the circumstances.

So So sad...
I am on Cnet every day and have seen so many videos and reviews from James Kim. I felt like i knew the guy... I honestly have to say i wasn't positive when the story first broke out but then when they found his wife and daughters hope came back and i had a feeling they would find him... This is really really sad... He will be missed dearly. |

Yea they used up all the gas to keep the heater going, and burnt their tires... must've been reaaaaaaaaally bad.
I haven't kept up on the whole story but I wonder if they had a cell phone or if they could've picked up on their cell signal to send out a rescue team.

This is a tragic story. Had he just stayed put with his family he would have survived.

I wonder why he didn't simply walk back on the road their car had just travelled on. This guy was a tech guru. Too bad he didn't have a Garmin or Magellan handheld with him. It's very easy to get disoriented and lost in the Wilderness, especially in bad weather.

This is all very sad but the article is missing some very fundemental information: Did they go off roading or were they on a road? If they were on the road why didn't they turn around rather than stop and waste their gas on the heater? I am so very confused how the trip turned into a life/death situation. Did the car crash?
The biggest mystery i this story is that they were on a road. Follow any road and it will take you somewhere right? Especially a road they turn onto by accident off a major highwy. |

Oh my God. I had seen these articles keep popping up on Digg, but I hadn't really paid any attention to what was happening.
This is a real tragedy. Hard to believe it can happen in this day in age. I recall seeing James' work on CNET and the Screensavers. He seemed like a really nice guy that truly loved his family, as evidenced from his efforts to save them.
